Leeds United currently sit in second spot in the Championship table.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa addressed the media today, and shared how he never tells his players that they cannot make mistakes, as quoted by Leeds Live.

The Whites slipped down to second place in the Championship table, after their defeat to Norwich City last weekend, and the pressure is heating up on Bielsa’s side.

Leeds do still have a three point advantage on third placed Sheffield United, however, so automatic promotion remains very much in their hands.

The west Yorkshire outfit have played a wonderful brand of attacking, free-flowing football this season – a style that has sometimes left them open defensively.

When speaking to reporters today, Bielsa insisted that he will not be telling his players to abandon that expressive freedom, however, as quoted by Leeds Live:

Marcelo

“I never tell our players that they have to respect a certain style, but they cannot make mistakes. Our style includes a risk. The alternative path is to use 50/50 balls but I think this is not convenient for us, it’s better to be faithful to our style.”

Next up for Leeds is a tough-looking trip to the Riverside to take on Middlesbrough on Saturday, before they face back-to-back home games against Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers respectively, so they have a great opportunity to get their season back on track.

Nothing less than nine points from those games will do, and Bielsa’s side are more than capable of doing just that.
