Leeds United have made a fine start to their Championship campaign.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought 2-1 win away at Wigan Athletic yesterday, and shared how his possession-based playing style has increased the self-esteem of his players, as quoted by Leeds Live.
The Whites have made an impressive start to life under Bielsa, and currently sit at the top of the Championship table, having taken 30 points from their opening 16 league outings.
Leeds fans must be incredibly happy with what they are seeing at the moment, with Bielsa’s side playing a really exciting brand of expansive football.
Whether the west Yorkshire outfit can keep up their fine work between now and May, however, remains to be seen.
Bielsa spoke to reporters after his side’s win over Wigan, and shared how important possession-based football has become for his players, as quoted by Leeds Live:

“When we have possession it increases our self-esteem because one of our goals is to prevent the opponent on the ball. If we can prevent the opponent from making too many passes and recover the ball from the third or fourth pass we feel safer and the opponent loses confidence. The opponents couldn’t rely on their attacking players who are usually dangerous.”
Next up for Leeds is a trip to West Brom on Saturday, and Bielsa’s side will have to be on their best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of leaving the Hawthorns with all three points.
