Patrick Bamford did not score for Leeds United against Barnsley at the weekend.
Bamford started for Leeds in their Championship game against Barnsley away from home at Oakwell on Sunday afternoon.
The striker failed to score and was substituted for Eddie Nketiah in the 70th minute.
Leeds head coach Bielsa has disclosed what he told the 26-year-old former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest man, who has been at Elland Road since the summer of 2018 when he joined from Championship rivals Middlesbrough for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £7 million.
Bielsa told Leeds Live: “Pat made a lot of efforts to be in good conditions to score, especially in this match. He had a lot of chances.
“I tried to explain to him that he deserved a goal in the match. An attacker like him in his position, they suffer a lot when they don’t score.”
Frustration
Bamford was not exactly bad against Barnsley, but it was simply not his day and he did look frustrated.
According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old took five shots, had a pass accuracy of 64.3%, and won one header.
The striker is playing well for Leeds this season, having scored four goals and provided one assist in seven Championship appearances, according to WhoScored.
