Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live what he said to his players at half time against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Bielsa’s side suffered a 6-2 loss at the hands of United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
It was 4-1 to the Red Devils at half time, and it eventually ended 6-2 to the home team in the end.
Bielsa told Leeds Live when asked about his half-time message to his players: “What I said was we needed to fight to try and get back into the game, to the last minute, no matter what the result. To try to not allow them to score and for ourselves to score. No attacking speculation.”
Disappointing result
United are a better side and have better players than Leeds, and that showed at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
It was not going to be easy for the Whites to even pick up a point at United, but conceding as many as six goals will come as a disappointment for the Whites.
True, Leeds attacked well and could have scored a few more goals, but defensively they were all over the place, and head coach Bielsa needs to address that.
Leeds are not in relegation worries yet, but they have to make sure that they become defensively better.
The Whites have shipped in as many as 30 goals in 14 Premier League matches so far this season.
