Leeds United left it late to secure a draw at Preston North End on Tuesday night.
Marcelo Bielsa is seemingly unhappy with how Leeds United concede chances and fail to kill off their opponents after their 1-1 draw at Preston North End on Tuesday night.
In truth, Leeds should have won the match, but it was same old story for the Yorkshire club, who in the end rescued a point for themselves, but would feel on the balance of the game, they should be walking away with all the points.
Bielsa had to rely on Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah to come off the bench and net a late draw, as Leeds also could have had a penalty right at the death, but referee Kevin Friend waved off appeals.
After the game, Bielsa stated that ‘we cannot ignore’ the fact that Preston could have won the game after they scored last night despite the match seemingly being in Leeds’ hand before the home team had struck.
“After Preston’s goal, we multiplied our efforts to try and score after we achieved to score,” Bielsa told Leeds Live. “But we cannot ignore after they scored and they had some chances to score again and maybe they could have won the match because until they scored the match was completely for us.
“After, in this period, until we equalise we could have received the second goal or could have drawn as we did. After the draw, we had a sensation we could have won the match as well. What is clear is the opponent doesn’t need to command the match to create danger.”
Some Leeds fans would like to see Nketiah given a chance because whenever he goes onto that field, he puts the ball into the back of the net.
But Bielsa’s stubbornness is seemingly impacting Leeds in a negative way and they will be hoping that it doesn’t become a problem later on in the season.
Leeds remain second in the league after that point at Deepdale, two points behind leaders West Brom, and two points ahead of seventh-placed Swansea City.
