Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa has been waxing-lyrical about Adam Forshaw.
Forshaw hasn’t played first-team football for Leeds United for almost two years at this point.
However, slowly but surely, Forshaw is getting back to full fitness, and it’s fair to say Bielsa can’t wait to have him back.
What’s been said?
Bielsa has had nothing but good things to say about Forshaw.
“I made reference to the player he was two years ago – one of the best Leeds had undoubtedly. After two years he’s not that same player without playing. His process to return to that level has to be progressive, commit him to feel confident. Rush this or anxiously, a lot of risks we run. Very serious and applied professional. I’m sure he has a desire to shorten the time. If there are errors we’ve made in the past with this injury, it was to accelerate the times and brought him back prematurely. When he is recovered, healthy and full he has the characteristics of a player you can’t buy in the market,” Bielsa said.

Like a new signing
Leeds may have only made one senior signing this summer in the shape of Junior Firpo, but the return of Forshaw will undoubtedly be a massive boost.
The Whites are quite light in midfield, especially in terms of defensive-minded players, and Forshaw’s return will help that.
Unfortunately, he’s not back yet, but if all goes to plan, it may not be that long before we see him donning the white shirt once again.
