Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Rodrigo is not at his best yet.
Bielsa has raved about the Spain international, who joined Leeds from Valencia last summer.
The 30-year-old, who can operate as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, scored twice for the Whites in their 4-0 win against Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Rodrigo, who has had injury and coronavirus issues, has made 12 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds this season, scoring six goals and providing one assist in the process.
Bielsa told Leeds Live: “Rodrigo is a player like the one you defined. He is at a very high level. One of the strikers for the Spanish national team and the Spanish national team is a powerhouse. He is a player, like I said before, that takes a while to get to his full form. When he finally finds his full form, he is a player that is very unbalancing.”
Rodrigo is a Spain international, and one does not play for La Roja if one is not a good player.

It was not been exactly a great season for the 30-year-old, but, like in the game against Burnley, he has shown his class on many occasions.
Bielsa saying that Rodrigo is not at his best is a positive for the Leeds fans. It shows just how good he can become next season.
Meanwhile, Bielsa has explained why central defender Robin Koch did not play against Burnley.
The Argentine told Leeds Live: “And Koch has a small knock in his hip and he could have played but we preferred not to risk him.”
