The Leeds United teenager still has a lot to learn, according to his manager.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s clash with Sheffield United in the early kick-off in the Championship on Saturday, and explained how Jack Clarke can learn a lot from Pablo Hernandez, as quoted by Leeds Live.
The Whites have made an impressive start to life under Bielsa, and currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, just one point adrift of league leaders Norwich City.
One major bonus for Leeds has been the emergence of Clarke, 18, this season.
The winger has made four substitute appearances for the west Yorkshire outfit, and has really impressed, despite clearly still being rough around the edges.
Bielsa addressed the media today, and urged Clarke to take heed of the manner in which his teammate Pablo Hernandez applies himself, as quoted by Leeds Live:
“He has many things to learn yet and he has to look at Hernandez as an example. Hernandez has many details Clarke can learn only by looking at him. What Pablo does, you can’t teach in the game. Sometimes Pablo goes to a zone on the pitch and because he goes to that zone, he receives the ball and he puts the ball in another zone where the defensive density is lower.”
Hernandez, 33, has been in excellent form for Leeds this season, chalking up six goals and four assists in just 11 Championship outings, and he is one of Bielsa’s most trusted on-field lieutenants.
And having someone like the Spaniard around Elland Road will be a massive help to Clarke, as the youngster looks to continue his development at Leeds.
