Phillips picked up an injury during Leeds’s Championship match against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 24-year-old midfielder was heavily strapped, but after the win, Bielsa said that he was hopeful that the injury is not serious, and that the Englishman will be available for the match against Barnsley at Elland Road on Thursday, as reported by Leeds Live.
However, the Leeds head coach has now said that Phillips will not be in action on Thursday, and has added that he will not be playing against Derby County and Charlton Athletic either.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Phillips this afternoon: “Kalvin is not going to play in Thursday’s match. We don’t know if he’s going to play the next two matches as well.”
The Leeds head coach added: “He has a problem in the knee and probably is not going to be involved in the last three, but in the worst scenario it’s an injury we are going to resolve in four or five weeks.”
Stats
Phillips has scored two goals and provided two assists in 37 Championship matches for Leeds this season, according to WhoScored.
Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 84 points from 43 matches and look set to clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League.
