Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that he trusts Jamie Shackleton.
Bielsa has praised the 21-year-old, who can operate as a central midfielder or as a right-back.
The Leeds boss has outlined the youngster’s attitude and has stated how he sees him.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Shackleton: “I believe in Shackleton as an important alternative for Leeds United. He’s in a similar process to that of Pascal.
“The only thing is that Pascal has a continuity that Shackleton hasn’t been able to have. I consider him a player that I can trust and I’m satisfied with what he has brought to the team.
“Apart from that, he is a very serious player, very applied and very conscious of what is needed to play at this level.”

Promising player
Shackleton has made over 50 appearances in all competitions for Leeds, and he is only 21.
Leeds have a very good and strong starting lineup, and the former England Under-20 international is not guaranteed a place in the team.
However, the 21-year-old is able to make an impact coming off the substitutes’ bench.
According to WhoScored, the youngster has made three starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the FA Cup for Leeds this season.
During the 2019-20 campaign, Shackleton made five starts and 17 substitute appearances in the Championship for the Whites, scoring two goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
Leeds need players such as Shackleton in the squad to have a good season, and Bielsa’s faith in him suggests that the youngster could play a big role in the coming weeks.
