The Leeds United stopper has been in fine form this season.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa watches on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road on March 1, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought win over Bristol City on Saturday, and offered high words of praise for Kiko Casilla, suggesting that the Spaniard provides a certain kind of energy to the team, as quoted by Leeds Live.

The Whites currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, two points adrift of league leaders Norwich City, and two clear of third placed Sheffield United.

Many Leeds fans believe that this season could be their year, as Bielsa’s men look to secure promotion back to the Premier League, having spent 15 years away from the top flight.

And if the west Yorkshire outfit are to go up this season, they will have Casilla to thank, after some superb performances from the former Real Madrid man.

And Bielsa spoke highly of the 32-year-old, when speaking to reporters after his side’s win over the Robins on Saturday, as quoted by Leeds Live:

“Yes, he give an energy to the team. He solves the situations he has to face without any complication. And he doesn’t make any mistakes when he has to respond to the situation he is facing.”

Next up for Leeds is a trip to Reading tomorrow night, and Casilla will be hoping to help his side rack up another vital three points in their ongoing quest for promotion back to the promised land.
