Jack Clarke is working his way back towards full fitness and is set to feature for Leeds United’s under-23s.

In comments reported by Leeds Live, Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Jack Clarke will play for Leeds’ under-23 side tonight before a decision is taken on whether he is included in the first-team squad that faces Sheffield United on Saturday.
Clarke has not played for the senior side since the worrying scenes at Middlesbrough last month, but has returned to action with the under-23s, helping Carlos Corberan’s men beat Charlton Athletic 4-0 earlier this week.
With Leeds gearing up for arguably their most important game of the campaign so far this weekend when the Blades come to Elland Road, the fans will be willing Clarke to be ready in time to perhaps play some role against Chris Wilder’s men.
And while Bielsa confirmed that his next game will be tonight’s Premier League Cup tie with Fulham, he certainly did not shut the door on the winger being involved at the weekend.

“He is going to play today,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live.
“We’ll see how he assimilates the game and I’ll take a decision after that.”

It would be a huge boost for Leeds if Clarke was back in the matchday squad this weekend. With both the Whites and Sheffield United in fantastic form, it could be one piece of magic that settles Saturday’s game.
And while there a number of candidates in both teams to potentially produce that moment of brilliance, Clarke would certainly have the potential to be one of the most exciting players on the pitch if he does make his return.
It was his assist that helped settle the meeting at Bramall Lane in December. And perhaps Bielsa may be willing to give him the chance to make a decisive impact once again on Saturday.
