Izzy Brown is yet to play a match for Leeds United since arriving at Elland Road in the summer.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Izzy Brown will be out for another four weeks.

Brown limped off recently during Leeds’ under-23 match, just as it looked as if he was closing in on a return to action.

The youngster moved to Leeds in the summer, but he has not been able to play at Elland Road at all yet.

Brown has been out with injury all season, and Bielsa is disappointed to see the England youth international pick up another problem.

“He has a problem that will take three or four weeks to solve. I’m disappointed and sad this happened,” Bielsa said. “It’s very common, frequent players who didn’t play for a long time have more problems. I see he is strong mentally with a lot of enthusiasm.”

Brown’s injury has come at the worst possible time for Leeds, as they are also without Samu Saiz now.

Brown looked as if he could be Saiz’s natural replacement at Leeds, but there are now question marks over who they should turn to.

Leeds may well be forced to enter the transfer market, although Bielsa has always played down the need for masses of new additions.

Leeds are still yet to pay a penny towards Brown’s loan, as Chelsea have agreed to cover the costs until he does make it off the treatment table.
