It was the Sweden international’s first start in the league this season, and Leeds head coach Bielsa was pleased with the performance of the centre-back – who initially joined the West Yorkshire outfit on loan from Italian side Torino in the summer of 2016 before making the move permanent in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £3.5 million – and gave his verdict on his performance in just two words – “very positive”.
Bielsa told Leeds Live: “The performance of [Pontus] Jansson was very positive.”
