Leeds United beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that he thought striker Patrick Bamford showed ‘great spirit’ against West Bromwich Albion.
The Whites took on West Brom last night and needed to hit back after losing 1-0 at Charlton Athletic – and they did just that.
Ezgjan Alioski’s first half goal proved to be the winner, with ex-Leeds United loanee Kyle Bartley deflecting the Macedonian’s effort into his own goal.
West Brom pushed for a leveller but just couldn’t break Leeds down, meaning the Baggies have lost their first game of the season and surrendered their top spot, giving it back to Leeds.
Leeds still maybe weren’t at their fluent best going forward, and they could have had a stronger lead had Bamford been able to score from close range before half time.
Alioski’s goalbound effort was touched on by Bamford, which Sam Johnstone saved, before he also saved Helder Costa’s follow-up in a superb double-stop.

Bamford worked incredible hard and showed great link-up play, but didn’t exactly look like scoring, meaning he’s scored just once in the last seven games.
After the game, Bielsa was asked for his view on Bamford’s display, offering just five words; “Great spirit to compete today,” said the Argentinian.
That sums up that Bamford was great for the team last night, selflessly battling away against two centre backs even if he wasn’t at his dangerous best.
