Leeds United take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that there are six Sheffield Wednesday players who have great quality – even if he didn’t exactly state them by name.

The Whites are back in Championship action this evening as they take on Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, and are looking to bounce back under Bielsa.

The Argentinian suffered his first league defeat as United boss last weekend, as Birmingham City beat Leeds 2-1 at Elland Road to walk away with all three points.

Leeds still sit top of the Championship, but must now show that they can respond with a strong performance, after their similarly great start to last season was demolished after one defeat.

Wednesday sit 10th in the Championship table and have made a decent start to the campaign under Jos Luhukay, especially given that they weren’t able to bring in any new signings over the summer.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Leeds boss Bielsa has discussed the quality that the Owls possess, and picked out six players for praise – even if he didn’t do it by name.

Bielsa has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that six players – numbers nine, 17, 19, 20, 37 and 45 – all have the ability hurt Leeds, meaning fans will be looking out for Steven Fletcher, Atdhe Nuhiu, Marco Matias, Adam Reach, Fraser Preston and Fernando Forestieri.

“I’m going to give you the numbers: number nine and number 17 in the axis,” said Bielsa. “Forty five, 19, number 37 and number 20. They have many. They could combine together in different ways and they could play in different positions. We have to adapt to how they play and how they are positioned in the field. But our defensive line is efficient enough to face this team,” he added.
