Marcelo Bielsa admitted that his Leeds team are simply ‘not doing very well’ in regards to their recent run of form following their 3-1 defeat [BBC Sport] against Norwich City on Saturday at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke’s side leapfrogged their promotion rivals to go top of the Championship table and inflict a fifth defeat on the Yorkshire club in their last seven matches in all competitions.

Leeds could have opened a healthy lead over their near rivals had they secured three points at the weekend, but added with their recent run of results, they are now just three points ahead of third-placed Sheffield United in the table.

After the match, during his post-match interview, Bielsa was asked about his side’s poor run of results and he issued a blunt response to the question.

“This is an indication that the team is not doing very well right now,” Bielsa told Sky Sports Football on 02/02/2019.

Mario Vrancic opened the scoring after five minutes following his deflected free-kick before Teemu Pukki kept himself onside to double his side’s lead going into the break.

Norwich then continued their dominance in the second half by constantly pressing from the front with Vrancic netting his second before substitute Patrick Bamford scored a consolation goal for his side.

More dropped points in the coming matches by Bielsa’s side could result in them dropping out of the automatic places in the Championship.

They travel to the northeast next Saturday to take on fifth-placed Middlesbrough before hosting Swansea in front of their supporters four days later.
