Leeds United play West Brom this weekend in what is something of a dead-rubber fixture, but one man who will care a lot about the game is Pablo Hernandez.
The club announced that Hernandez will be leaving Leeds in the summer, meaning that the game against West Brom will be the last chance he has to play for the Whites.
Hernandez is without a doubt a modern Leeds legend, he’s the only player in the club’s history to win their Player of the Year award three times in a row, while he scored the goal that all-but sealed their return to the Premier League last season against Swansea.
The Spaniard will go into this weekend as a Leeds player for the last time this weekend, and in our opinion, Marcelo Bielsa has to start him.
Whether or not Leeds win or lose against West Brom is redundant, the Whites are guareanteed a top-10 finish, and they can’t break into the European spots anymore, so this is a great chance for rotation.
Hernandez hasn’t started a game in the league for Leeds since their 4-1 loss to Leicester back in November, which will be 202 days ago by the time Sunday rolls around.

Starting Hernandez in his final game makes the world of sense, but when you factor in that this is the first time fans will be back at Elland Road in over 14 months it just seems like the perfect way to say goodbye to the United star.
Add in the fact that West Brom, a team already relegated from the Premier League, are the Whites opposition and you give Hernandez a great chance to provide one more piece of magic in West Yorkshire and the returning Elland Road faithful a moment they will never ever forget.
