Marcelo Bielsa reportedly does not want to bring in another forward at Leeds United.

According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United won’t be signing a free agent striker, as Marcelo Bielsa trusts the players he has in his squad currently, and that is exactly the right tactic from the Argentine boss.

Leeds were dealt the blow of losing Patrick Bamford to injury, after the striker damaged his knee while playing with the under-23’s.

But rather than panic, Bielsa has decided that Leeds have enough to cover for Bamford’s absence.

And Leeds have made the right call by sticking by what they have, rather than looking for a short-term fix.

Leeds’ options on the free agent market are extremely limited, and any player they brought in would be a big risk.

Leeds could go for an ageing veteran like Robbie Keane or an untested youngster from a Premier League academy, but they are better off going with what they have.

Leeds already have Tyler Roberts and Ryan Edmondson who are champing at the bit for chances.

And they are better off backing their prospects to make an impact, rather than blocking their route to the first-team by signing a short-term option in the hope can cover for Bamford for four months.
