Llorente recently joined Leeds from Spanish club Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old central defender has arrived at the West Yorkshire club with a big reputation, but he was not in action against the Blades away from home on Sunday.
Leeds boss Bielsa has explained his decision not make use of the Spain international centre-back.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Llorente: “We thought it was too early to involve him in an official game. If he starts a game he may play 90 minutes.
“If he starts with the subs he could play some minutes. We didn’t want to take the risk of him playing a lot of minutes.”
Important player for Leeds United
Llorente has only just joined Leeds, and it could take him a while to get used to the way Bielsa does things.
The Spaniard is going to compete with Liam Cooper and Robin Koch, and with such healthy competition in defence, it is only going to be good for the team overall.
Leeds have started the season strongly, and with Llorente now an option for Bielsa, the Whites are only going to get better in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, Leeds striker Patrick Bamford has praised goalkeeper Illan Meslier for the saves he made against United.
Bamford told Leeds’s official website: “I’m not surprised Illan Meslier was the man of the match, with every shot he saved, their players were like ‘who is this guy?’.
“The first time everyone saw him was against Arsenal and you saw how good he was then and he’s just growing with every game, he deserves all the plaudits, he works hard and is keeping a level head.”
