Leeds United have been incredibly exciting to watch this season.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and defended his attacking approach to the game, as quoted by the Daily Star.

The Argentine has worked wonders since taking over at Elland Road in the summer, and the Whites have a real chance of earning promotion this season.

Leeds currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, one point clear of third placed Sheffield United, with only five league games remaining this term.

Bielsa has introduced a wonderfully exciting, free-flowing brand of football to the west Yorkshire club, and they have undoubtedly been the best team to watch in the second tier this season.

The Argentine has been criticised over the past couple of months for his attacking approach, however.

The Leeds boss batted back that criticism, though, when asked by reporters whether he will ever change his attacking philosophy, as quoted by the Daily Star:

Marcelo Bielsa the head coach

“If the other team draw because you try to score a second goal, people claim that the team should be more defensive. But if you try to be defensive and you draw, people ask ‘why did you not try to get a second goal?’ You can make different interpretations of this.”

Next up for Leeds is a home game against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow, and Bielsa’s men will have to be on their best form, if they are to rack up another vitally important three points in their ongoing quest for promotion back to the Premier League.
