Leeds United managed to beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Elland Road last night.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that West Bromwich Albion’s attacking quality last night was ‘not normal’.

West Brom failed to score against Leeds, as they were beaten 1-0 at Elland Road, but Slaven Bilic’s men had the Whites penned back towards the end.

Leeds are normally so dominant against their opponents, but Albion did cause them some problems.

And Bilic admits that West Brom’s attacking play was excellent, particularly towards the end.

Bilic said: “You always ask criteria to analyse the matches we are going to play. In the first half we did a little bit better than them and in the second half they were a little better than us.

“What they produced in the last 20 minutes was good. It’s not normal to see such production in attack as they did in the last part of the match.”

West Brom were the top scorers in the Championship before last night, which shows how well Leeds did to shut them out.

Marcelo Bielsa, manager of Leeds United looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Barnsley and Leeds United at Oakwell Stadium on September 15, 2019 in Barnsley, England.

Bielsa’s men are more famed for their attacking quality than their defensive strength, but they really dug in towards the end last night.

Leeds now sit in top spot in the Championship table, with West Brom occupying second place.

Leeds are next in action against Millwall at the weekend, while West Brom take on Cardiff City.
