Leeds United missed out on promotion this season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s future at Elland Road now uncertain.

Leeds missed two chances to go up into the Premier League, as they slipped out of the automatic promotion spots over the course of the season and then lost in the play offs.
But Bielsa does not subscribe to the theory that Leeds were not good enough to go up.
The Argentine boss instead feels that Leeds actually deserved to claim a top two spot ahead of Norwich City or Sheffield United.
Bielsa said: “It is very difficult for a head coach to take on the disappointment of all these people, especially when I make two conclusions, firstly about the difficulties this team overcame and also the results.
“It might make us think that this team reached a point which was higher than we thought they could, but that is not true. The team deserved to finish first or second and we had the conditions and the skills to win the play-offs.”
Leeds were in a commanding position in their play off tie against Derby County, but they let it slip.

The Whites went 2-0 up on aggregate early on at Elland Road on Wednesday evening when Stuart Dallas blasted home from close range.
However, Derby hit back and completed one of the best comebacks in play off history.
Bielsa’s future at Leeds is now uncertain, with the popular manager thought to be weighing up whether to stay on next season or not.
