Leeds United have signed five first-team players this summer.
Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds United’s official website that he would not say no to any more new signings this summer.
Leeds kick off their Championship campaign by hosting Stoke City at Elland Road tomorrow.
United have had an excellent last week on the transfer front after wrapping up permanent deals for Barry Douglas and Patrick Bamford, while also adding Manchester City prospect Jack Harrison on loan.
Whites’ Director of Football Victor Orta has signed five first-team players this summer overall – including Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker on loan from Chelsea.
But Bielsa said to Leeds’ official website during a press conference that although he is happy with the arrivals, he wouldn’t be against additional signings.
He said: “I am happy with the team, if we could get more players I would accept them. I am happy with the new players, each player offers the alternatives that we need.
“We want competition in every position and we are close to that point now.”
Leeds’ sale of Ronaldo Vieira to Sampdoria will take some of the gloss off the club’s transfer business.
The West Yorkshire side looked set to keep their best players and improve the squad, but Vieira, one of the most promising players to come through the academy in recent years, was an exciting player at Leeds and some fans might be slightly miffed at the decision to offload him.
