Illan Meslier joined Leeds United on loan from Lorient on transfer deadline day.

Meslier joined Leeds on loan from French club Lorient in the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old has arrived at Elland Road as a replacement for Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who left for Premier League outfit Burnley earlier in the window.
Leeds head coach Bielsa has suggested that the France Under-20 international goalkeeper was signed on the recommendation of the club’s goalkeeper coach Abad.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Meslier: “He’s a good ‘keeper, Marcos Abad knew a lot about. He knew him too. The opinion is of Marcos.
“In some players I have more analysts, but in other players I trust in recommendations. I am not saying I do not control the players, but I give importance to others’ opinions on players.”

Risky signing for Leeds United?
Meslier is a very talented and promising young goalkeeper, but the 19-year-old may not be ready to compete for a place in the starting lineup yet.
True, Kiko Casilla is the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds at the moment, but the Spaniard needs some strong competition this season.
Perhaps Leeds should have opted for a more experienced goalkeeper as a back-up to Casilla, as they aim to finish in the top two of the Championship this season.
