Leeds United have lost to Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup.

Marcelo Bielsa, manager of Leeds United arrives ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United at City Ground on January 01, 2019 in Nottingham, England.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that the club may not sign any players in the January transfer window.

Bielsa made the comments following Leeds’s 2-1 defeat to Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers away from home at Loftus Road in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Leeds head coach told Leeds Live regarding January transfers: “I’m not sure if we will be active.”

Need for signings

Leeds do have a strong squad, but the West Yorkshire outfit have to make additions to the team for the second half of the season.

The Whites have lost their last three matches in all competitions, and it is clear that defensively they need to improve.

One area in which Leeds clearly needs addition is between the posts, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell the only established goalkeeper in the first team.

Injuries to players such as Liam Cooper and Patrick Bamford have not helped Leeds either, but the Elland Road faithful should not panic and should remain optimistic about the second half of the season.

Leeds will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Derby County at Elland Road in the Championship.
