Marcelo Bielsa comments on Leeds duo Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United won against Bristol City today.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that Patrick Bamford will be fit for the match against Reading.

Bamford scored the only goal for Leeds in their 1-0 win against City away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough striker, though, struggled with injury and had to be substituted on 57 minutes.

Kalvin Phillips started the match for Leeds and played for the entire 90 minutes, and the midfielder also appeared to take a knock.

Leeds are back in action on Tuesday evening when they take on Reading away from home in the Championship, and head coach Bielsa has suggested that Bamford and Phillips will be available.

Bielsa told Leeds Live about Bamford and Phillips: “We’ll see by Tuesday how they are. They will be available, I think. It wouldn’t be convenient to anticipate their real situation.”

Encouraging for Leeds United

Bamford has been in good form in recent weeks and is scoring goals regularly, while Phillips is a key figure in the Leeds midfield.

If the two players are available against Reading, then it will enhance Leeds’s chances of winning the match.
