Leeds United thumped Derby County on Saturday evening.
Marcelo Bielsa has said to Leeds Live that he will speak to his Leeds United players regarding their discipline after Saturday’s 4-1 demolition of Derby County.
Leeds made it seven goals in two games with another highly-energetic performance which Frank Lampard’s Derby side could not live with at the iPro Stadium.
In doing so, the Whites moved second in the Championship table and one point behind Middlesbrough, who have played one game more.
On the face of it, it looked like a perfect evening for Bielsa, but the Argentine coach was not pleased with the ill-discipline toward the end.
Ezgjan Alioski and Patrick Bamford both picked up injury-time bookings, and the 62-year-old admitted that he’d speak to the duo about it.
“I never think that to be booked is something useful. Because when you get booked it means you’ve violated the rules,” he was quoted as saying by Leeds Live, when asked if he would talk to his team about the late yellows.
“So I prefer that we don’t do any infractions. It doesn’t matter which moment of the game.
“The team that interrupts the play of the game less and the team that has the intention to play will benefit from this position.”
A couple of yellow cards aside, it was another thrilling performance from a United side who look like the real deal so far.
Promotion is a must for Leeds after hiring a head coach as decorated and established as Bielsa, and for now they certainly seem like prime candidates to go up.
