Jack Clarke is on loan at Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur, but he has received barely any game time this season.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has admitted to the Yorkshire Evening Post that Jack Clarke had a ‘problem’ earlier this season, but he is starting to push for a first-team place now.

Leeds re-signed Clarke on loan after he moved to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but the youngster has barely featured this term.

Clarke has made just two appearance for Leeds all season, and has not featured at all in the Championship.

Bielsa has appeared to suggest that Clarke was struggling with his demands earlier on the season.

But the Argentine boss thinks that Clarke’s level has risen now, and he has claimed that the 18-year-old is starting to become an option.

“He is improving. Clarke has a process which allows him to play in the first team,” Bielsa said.

“After he had a problem but now step by step he is finding his level. When one attacker plays well. He immediately becomes a resource for the manager. Clarke is the same option as Pablo, Helder and Harrison.”

Spurs will surely be tracking Clarke’s progress, as it is thought that they have an option to recall him in January.

If Leeds continue to overlook Clarke, then Tottenham could opt to relocate him in the new year.

It remains to be seen whether Clarke will be given his first minutes of the season tomorrow in the Championship, when the Whites take on QPR.
