Marcelo Bielsa has admitted to the Leeds Live that Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s standards dropped in Leeds United’s last game against Birmingham City.

Leeds were beaten for the first time in the league this term last weekend, when they lost 2-1 against Garry Monk’s side.

Peacock-Farrell was at fault for the first goal which his team conceded on the day, as he failed to keep out a long-range effort from Che Adams.

And Bielsa admitted that the young goalkeeper’s standards dropped last weekend.

“He made a mistake in the first goal,” Bielsa said. “This is in evidence. In the eight games he played before this one he played better than he played against Birmingham.”

Despite his error against Birmingham, Peacock-Farrell has been in good form otherwise this season.

The stopper has looked assured, but he does face fierce competition for the number one spot.

Leeds also have Jamal Blackman available to them to pick, and he is a goalkeeper who is already proven at Championship level.

Leeds’ next match comes against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tomorrow evening.
