Leeds United are set to be without many of their striking options at the weekend.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has admitted to Leeds Live that he is worried when he realistically analyses his side’s injury problems.

Leeds were dealt the blow of losing Patrick Bamford earlier this week, and they now will have to be without Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi too.

The Whites’ attacking options are, therefore, looking short ahead of their match with Millwall this weekend.

And Bielsa admits that although he has faith in his squad, he is still concerned about his side going forward.

“I say that we can solve the absence of Pablo, Bamford and Roofe – I wouldn’t want to ignore what they represent for the team,” he said.

“They have the conviction I am convinced and we have been working with a lot more than 11 players.

“The time has come to show the product of the result of what we have done so far. Sometimes when you ask a question it is difficult to tell the truth without going in a position to common sense.

“I am worried when I analyse the reality. The people who don’t take into account the reality are people who dare too much. I do not ignore reality but I am always full of hope before the game. Before any game I always have a lot of hope that invades me – I have more expectations for what I can get in the following game than for the resources I can use.”

Patrick Bamford of Leeds United controls the ball during the Carabao Cup Second Round match between Leeds United and Preston North End at Elland Road on August 28, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Bamford’s initial injury was one which Leeds looked as if they could cover, but with Hernandez and Roofe also out, their preparations for the Millwall game are far from ideal.

Roofe has been Leeds’ starting striker this season, with Bamford first reserve.

But with the pair out it seems that Tyler Roberts could be called upon to start at the Den.

Roberts joined Leeds last January, but has struggled with injury and barely featured for Bielsa’s side so far.
