Leeds United are still in the market for new signings.
Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that it’s a possibility that the Whites will make a signing, but he doesn’t have positive or negative news about the club’s transffer hopes.
The Whites lost for the first time under Bielsa on Tuesday night, as Preston North End beat them 2-0 at Elland Road in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Leeds made a host of changes, just as Preston did, but Bielsa will be looking for an instant response when his side return to action against Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Friday night.
Not only do Leeds play on Friday, but they will also have one eye on the loan deadline, as the window closes on Friday and won’t reopen again until January.
Whilst the permanent deadline closed earlier this month, Football League clubs have still been able to sign players on loan until August 31st; and clubs have been taking players on loan with pre-agreed permanent deals to get around the restrictions.
Leeds continue to be linked with players, but nothing appears to be imminent in terms of incomings right now – and manager Bielsa has commented on the situation today.
Bielsa has told Leeds Live that he doesn’t have a positive nor negative answer about Leeds’ hopes of bringing in a new signing, and is happy with the amount of players he currently has if Leeds don’t manage to bring anybody in.
“I can’t give you a positive and answer and I can’t give you a negative one,” said Bielsa. “It’s a possibility that if we get a new player it’s because they will have a plus for the team. And if nobody comes we have enough players,” he added.
