Some Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Liverpool Echo revealed that Jarrad Branthwaite will be out for around four weeks.
The young centre-back started the Toffees’ Carabao Cup win over Salford City earlier this week; a game in which Everton romped to a 3-0 win.
However, the 18-year-old was forced off the field after just 25 minutes having gone over on his ankle awkwardly.
Now, the Liverpool Echo have confirmed that Branthwaite has suffered torn ligaments in his left ankle, which should sideline him for around a month.
The teenager made four Premier League appearances last season after breaking into the first-team squad.

In light of that news, some Everton fans are in agreement that a new defender is needed at Goodison Park.
Mason Holgate is currently missing with a toe injury, while another young option in Lewis Gibson is being lined up for a loan move to Huddersfield, according to a separate report from the Liverpool Echo.

That leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just Yerry Mina and Michael Keane as his centre-back options.
That is why a number of supporters have called on sporting director Marcel Brands to sign a new face in that department.
Let’s see what the Toffees fans on Twitter have been saying…
