Everton enjoyed a productive end to the summer transfer window.

Everton director of football Marcel Brands has told The Telegraph that he gave Farhad Moshiri a warning about his own approach before taking the job.
The Toffees decided to make major changes after the end of last season, with manager Sam Allardyce and director of football Steve Walsh both sacked my majority shareholder Moshiri.
A new approach was wanted, and in came Marco Silva as the club’s new manager after a lengthy pursuit, and Marcel Brands was in as director of football after a strong spell with PSV Eindhoven.
Brands, 56, has long been praised for his work in the transfer market over in the Netherlands, and he now has the chance to prove himself in the Premier League after previous links to Chelsea.
The Dutchman got off to a slow start in this summer’s transfer market, as Everton had to wait a while for their first signings, but did end up with seven additions to Silva’s squads.
Joao Virginia, Lucas Digne and Richarlison were snapped up well in advance of the new season, and four more – Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma, Bernard and Andre Gomes – arrived on deadline day in a late flurry.
Brands looks to have made a host of fine signings, but he has now told The Telegraph that he offered a warning to Moshiri before taking the Everton job, stating that if he wanted immediate success, then Brands wasn’t the man to deliver it.

Instead, Brands suggested that Everton need to show patience and build something over a number of years like Manchester City or Tottenham, even if he is happy with his work to boost Silva’s options in his first summer.
“When I spoke with (Farhad Moshiri) before I came in, I told him that if you want success next year don’t look for me because I cannot bring that,” said Moshiri. “You saw in the past in the Premier League that if you only spend money, that is not the guarantee for success. You see the clubs with the long-term strategy. They are in a stable situation. Look at Tottenham, look at Manchester City with Txiki (Begiristain). He is already there six years. It is important for Everton to get to a stable situation. We have a lot of work to do at this fantastic club.”
“We have improved the squad and that was the (first) goal. Marco is very happy with the squad. That is happy for me to see. We have changed the way of playing and that also takes some time. You saw that with the results in pre-season. But the players like the way they play now. That kind of thing can help us achieve a good season. I am not saying that we can win the league but if we can make a good team from this squad, we can have a very good season,” he added.
