Marc Wilson responds when asked if he already regrets Sunderland move

Sunderland defender Marc Wilson has featured in all but one of Simon Grayson’s side’s league matches since joining.

Marc Wilson has insisted to the Chronicle that he made the right choice joining Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Wilson joined Sunderland from Stoke City, despite having plenty of other choices of clubs to join.

The Republic of Ireland defender has gone on to play a key role for Simon Grayson’s side since signing.

Wilson has started in all but one of Sunderland’s last six Championship matches, but he is still yet to taste victory at the Stadium of Light.

The 30-year-old has been unable to inspire Sunderland out of their slumber, with Grayson’s side currently sitting in 23rd place in the Championship table.

But, despite the struggles on the pitch, Wilson insists he is enjoying playing for the Black Cats.

He said: “I’ve only been here a short time but already I know I’ve made the right move. I’ve got no doubt in my head. I feel happy in the place.”

Wilson may come back into Sunderland’s team for their next match, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers.

Sunderland have had two weeks off over the international break, when Grayson has been working hard on the training ground to iron out the faults in his side’s play.
