Sunderland defender Marc Wilson has struggled at the Stadium of Light so far.
Wilson was put up for sale by Bournemouth in the previous transfer window, and a host of clubs came in to sign the defender.
However, it was Sunderland who won the race for Wilson’s signature, as they could offer him regular first-team football.
And the Republic of Ireland international said: “I had a few other clubs that were interested. Obviously I sat down with the family and we had a chat about it, where I wanted to go and how I needed to achieve it.
“We decided that Sunderland was the place to come.”
Wilson is yet to show his top form in a Sunderland shirt, and has missed his side’s last two matches with injury.
Wilson does appear to be part of Simon Grayson’s first-team plans though, as before he was sidelined he was playing regularly.
Wilson’s arrival at the Stadium of Light seems to have done little to help the Black Cats awake from their slumber.
Sunderland were in abject form last season, as they were relegated from the Premier League, and the losing habit seems to have stuck with them.
Sunderland have tasted victory just once in the league this term, and currently sit in the Championship’s relegation zone.
