Sunderland’s form at the Stadium of Light is horrendous but Marc Wilson insists an elusive home win isn’t far away.

Sunderland defender Marc Wilson has admitted to the club’s official website that he was ‘disappointed to hear’ about the Black Cats’ poor home record – but says a long-awaited victory is “definitely” on the way.
The Stadium of Light club have not won a match on Wearside since December of last year – a 1-0 victory over Watford under David Moyes – in what is one of the worst home records around and a big improvement is needed in that regard.
Under Simon Grayson, Sunderland have managed only one victory from 12 Championship games this season in a run of form which leaves them second from bottom in the table, with eight points from a possible 36.

But come-from-behind draws against Preston and QPR in recent weeks should illustrate that the Black Cats still have a sense of fight in them.
And Wilson, a Bosman signing in the summer, is positive that an elusive home victory will come sooner rather than later.
“It’s disappointing to hear how long it’s been since we won at home,” he told Sunderland’s official website.

“That can put pressure on us but, as players, we’ve got to stay positive and try and make the Stadium of Light a fortress. That’s how we’ll start picking up points.
“I definitely see that coming. I can see everyone working hard but we’re looking to get a positive result under our belt. We are desperate to give the fans the points they deserve. “
Grayson’s troops are away to Brentford on Saturday, before hosting Bristol City on Wearside the following week as the North-East club look to end a 16-match winless run at the Stadium of Light.
