The 26-year-old Barnsley captain is also wanted by Burnley.

Newly appointed Barnsley captain Marc Roberts has been speaking about his future amid rumours linking him with a switch to the Premier League.

The Sun report that Swansea, Burnley and West Brom are all interested in the player, with the Tykes putting a £5 million price-tag on the 26-year-old.

Swansea are looking to strengthen their defence as they aim to survive a relegation battle and Roberts would be reunited with his former Barnsley team-mate Alfie Mawson.

Burnley are also looking to strengthen their team as they look to stave off relegation whilst the powerful and imposing centre-half would be the perfect signing for Tony Pulis’ West Brom – who will be looking to replace the ageing Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson.

But the player himself has distanced himself from an exit.

Speaking to the Barnsley twitter account, after being announced as Conor Hourihane’s replacement as captain at Oakwell, he confirmed his desire to remain:

Barnsley are flying high in the Championship but have lost the likes of Sam Winnall and Hourihane to Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa respectively this month.

But it appears Roberts will be going nowhere despite the interest of Swansea, Burnley and West Brom.
