Bournemouth fans respond to emotional Marc Pugh Twitter message

The Cherries legend – whose contract is up at the end of the season – has gone on loan to Hull City.

It looks as though Marc Pugh’s time at Bournemouth is over after the midfielder completed a loan move to Hull City earlier this week.

The 31-year-old joined the Cherries in 2010 from Hereford and has gone on to make 312 appearances for the south coast club, becoming their current longest-serving player.

However, this season Pugh – whose contract is up at the end of the season – has been restricted to just three appearances for Bournemouth, and none in the Premier League.

Given he appears surplus to Eddie Howe’s requirements, and judging by the reaction from some of the Cherries contingent, one would think he looks likely to move on in the summer.

Following his move to the Tigers, who have gone from relegation battlers to potential playoff chasers under Nigel Adkins, Pugh sent an emotional Twitter message to Bournemouth:

During his time on the south coast, Pugh has won promotion from League One as well as the Championship title.

Pugh’s last appearance was in the 3-1 FA Cup third round defeat to Brighton on January 5 when he scored the Cherries’ consolation goal.
