Marc Muniesa was Mark Hughes’s second signing upon arriving at Stoke City in 2013.

Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa looks to have all-but-confirmed his permanent exit with an Instagram post directed at his current loan club Girona.
Responding to Girona’s post wishing Muniesa a happy 26th birthday, the Spaniard said: “Moltes gràcies. A seguir sumant anys junts.”
Roughly translated, this states: “Thank you so much. Let’s continue for many years together.”
Muniesa has only featured 11 times for the Catalonians since returning to his native Spain in August 2017, though his performances have been highly praised.
Girona now sit comfortably in seventh place in their maiden top tier campaign, despite a pre-season relegation favourites tag.

Muniesa had previously been in talks to join his hometown club permanently in the summer, only for wage demands to hamper the opportunity.
Despite an injury-disrupted four seasons with the Potters, many Stoke fans would be devastated to see Muniesa leave the club.
