Former Celtic midfielder Marc Crosas has caused something of a stir on Twitter, as fans of the club loved his recent tweet about being a Celt for life.

Celtic take on Zenit St Petersburg in the second leg of their Europa League tie tomorrow and head of the game the official Celtic twitter account highlighted some players to have played for both Celtic and a team in Russia.

Crosas joined Russian outfit Volga Nizhny Novgorod when he left Celtic in 2011 so he therefore qualifies.

He was taken aback at being referred to as an ‘ex-Celt’ in the tweet. Instead he believes he will always be a Bhoy after his three year spell at the club:

Crosas was certainly a popular figure during his time at Celtic. He played 51 times for the club and scored one goal in his three seasons at Parkhead before falling completely out of favour under the management of Neil Lennon.

Nowadays the Spanish midfielder is playing Mexico with Cruz Azul, where his manager is failed Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha.

Celtic fans were very pleased to hear of his continued support of the club, with plenty of well-wishers getting in touch…
