Steven Davis labelled the Premier League’s versatile machine Stuart Dallas as the ‘marathon man’ on Instagram after he played his 200th game for Leeds on Sunday.
The Northern Ireland international didn’t celebrate that achievement in the manner in which he would have liked because Leeds recorded a goalless draw against Mikel Arteta’s men.
A player like Dallas typifies what Marcelo Bielsa is about as a coach because he is an individual who can play anywhere on the pitch and works like he has two or three engines rather than just the one.
After playing his 200th game for Leeds, Dallas stated on Instagram that he is ‘incredibly proud’ of his achievement.
Davis perfectly summed the 29-year-old by calling him the ‘marathon man’, whilst his teammate Ian Poveda labelled him a ‘legend’.
On the international scene, Davis would have seen first hand what Dallas is all about because for a number of seasons now he has wowed the Elland Road faithful on the domestic scene.
Whether he is playing at full-back, dropping into the middle of the park or pushing forward and showcasing his talents in more attacking areas. There is no doubt that Dallas is an underrated figure in the Premier League and in this Leeds team.
Davis, who is now hoping to guide Rangers to the Premiership title this season, spent many years in the Premier League with the likes of Aston Villa and Southampton, as Dallas will be hoping to add his name to the Northern Irishman who have thrived in England’s top-flight.
