Darren Ambrose says Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Alexis Mac Allister is going to have ‘many suitors’ during the January transfer window.
The Tottenham-mad pundit shared how journalists in Argentina think the Brighton midfielder has been ‘one of the stars’ of their World Cup campaign.
Argentina beat France on penalties on Sunday to become world champions, with Mac Allister, who is wanted by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, supplying the assist for Angel di Maria’s goal in the first half of normal time.

Of course, Brighton don’t want to be selling one of their star assets, but as they have proven with Yves Bissouma in the summer, they will let key players leave if the price is right.
Could Mac Allister, after the greatest night of his life, be the next one through the doors at Hotspur Way? Well, former Crystal Palace player and boyhood Spurs fan Ambrose spoke about the World Cup winner’s situation, as he told talkSPORT.
“He is going to have many suitors in January,” said Ambrose. “I am not trying to sell him off.
“We spoke to a journalist from Argentina and he said Mac Allister is one of the star men out there – even if they came back as a World Cup finalist. I think his agent is going to be putting some kind of contract on the table by saying ‘this is what we want’.
“He might have a clause in there. Every time I have watched him, he has been fantastic. So, he will have some suitors.”

MAC ALLISTER AT WORLD CUP
It’s crazy to think that Mac Allister didn’t start Argentina’s opening group game defeat to Saudi Arabia, which now seems a world away.
Back then, the South American giants would have been fearing the worst because, alongside Brazil, they entered the tournament as one of the pre-favourites.
But in moments of difficulty, you need big players to step up and that’s what Mac Allister did when, from the opening game in, every match for Argentina was a knockout match.
