Fabrizio Romano has written in his email newsletter (7:34am, September 26, 2022) that Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has had a lot of interest in the past.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that a lot of clubs have looked at potentially signing Son from Tottenham.

However, Spurs have never considered selling the 30-year-old South Korea international, according to Romano.

The Italian journalist has added that Son, who cost Spurs £22 million in transfer fees (Guardian), is happy in London and does not want to leave Tottenham anytime soon.

Fabrizio Romano on Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min

Romano wrote: “I started today’s column talking about Harry Kane, but what about his hugely underrated strike partner Son Heung-min?

“Despite being such a top performer for Tottenham for so many years, he’s rarely someone we hear about on the transfer market.

“Well, it’s not due to a lack of interest – there have been many clubs who have looked at him, but he’s always been considered untouchable by Tottenham. When that is the case, it is almost impossible to negotiate with Daniel Levy.

“He’s also really happy in London, and that is why a move away has never been advanced.”

World class

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min is a world-class forward, and his importance for the North London club cannot be undermined.

Son has established himself as an important source of goals for Tottenham over the years.

The South Korean has scored 96 goals and created 55 big chances in 239 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Any manager of any club would love to have Son in his team.

The Tottenham star works hard, always plays with a smile on his face, does not make too much noise about getting a new contract every year, and is very humble.
