West Ham United signed the midfielder on a free transfer this summer.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s home clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, and responded when asked where he believes Jack Wilshere’s best position is, as quoted by Football.London.
The Chilean spent heavily in the summer, bringing in nine new faces for around £100 million, but Wilshere didn’t cost them a penny, after his contract had expired with Arsenal.
Many are backing the 26-year-old to flourish at West Ham, but quite where he should be utilised by Pellegrini has been a hot topic of debate.
During the Hammers’ defeat to Liverpool last weekend, Wilshere was deployed in the number 10 position, but he failed to influence the game in a positive aspect for his club.
Pellegrini told reporters today how he sees Wilshere more as a deep-lying midfielder, as quoted by Football.London:

“I see Jack playing as a holding midfielder. He can give us good build up.”
Wilshere will be looking to get a full injury-free season under his belt first and foremost this term, and if he manages to do just that, he will surely prove to be a fantastic asset for West Ham.
