The West Ham United forward is unsurprisingly currently out injured.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media today, and responded when asked whether Andy Carroll has played his last game for the football club, as quoted by Football.London.
The 30-year-old’s current contract with the Hammers expires in the summer, and considering the fact that he is currently out injured with an ankle problem, his future in east London remains very much unclear.
Carroll joined West Ham initially on loan from Liverpool in the summer of 2012, before making his move a permanent one the following summer, but his spell with the Hammers has been blighted by injuries.
The 6ft 4in Geordie has managed just 84 Premier League starts for the east London club, and he surely will not be given a new deal in the summer.
Pellegrini responded when asked whether Carroll’s time at West Ham is up, as quoted by Football.London:
“We don’t know in this moment, I cannot tell you. We need to wait for some medical examinations and then after that, we will know.”
With just eight games remaining this season, Carroll doesn’t have long left to prove that he is worthy of a new deal, and there probably will not be too many West Ham fans who are sad to see him leave.
