The West Ham United winger was in superb form once again last night.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side’s superb 2-1 win away at Southampton last night, and offered high words of praise for match-winner Felipe Anderson, suggesting that the Brazilian will get even better during the second half of the season, as quoted by Football.London.
The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer, for a fee that could eventually rise to £42 million, and he has already firmly established himself as a fan favourite, chalking up eight goals and two assists in 19 Premier League games in the process.
Anderson initially struggled to adapt to the ferocious pace of the Premier League, but it seems as though he has now well and truly settled in England.
Pellegrini spoke to reporters last night, and highlighted how the winger deserves a lot of credit for already chalking up eight league goals, as quoted by Football.London:
“I always say that Felipe is just knowing what is the Premier League, in every game he is improving, it is not easy for a midfielder to score eight goals in the middle of the season, I am sure that he will continue improving in the second half. Tonight he played very well but he is not the only one.”
If Anderson does in fact improve during the second half of the campaign, West Ham fans will be in for a real treat.
Pellegrini is looking to guide his side to a Europa League place this season, and if Anderson continues to shine, they have every chance of doing just that.
