West Ham United were far too good for Cardiff City last night.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 3-1 win over Cardiff City last night, and admitted that giving away a penalty to the visitors in the first half was totally unnecessary, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers made a slow start to their Premier League campaign, but two consecutive wins for Pellegrini’s side has put a totally different spin on their season.
West Ham ow sit in 12th spot in the Premier League table, having taken 18 points from their opening 15 league outings, and are just five points adrift of sixth placed Bournemouth.
Pellegrini addressed the media after last night’s win over Cardiff, and pinpointed something that his team did that was completely unnecessary, as quoted by Football.London:
“Cardiff had some shots and then they got a penalty which was very unnecessary. We improved a lot in the second half. It was absolutely unnecessary, fortunately Lukasz saved it.”
West Ham have a great chance to make it three consecutive wins in the Premier League, when they welcome Crystal Palace to the London Stadium on Saturday, and should results elsewhere go their way, they could climb as high as ninth in the table with a victory over the Eagles
