The West Ham United manager will be desperate to have the Argentine back and available for selection.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and suggested that he expects to have Manuel Lanzini back and available for section for his side’s clash with Fulham on February 22nd, as quoted by Football.London.
The Argentine has been out for the entire season, after suffering a serious ACL injury in his right knee during pre-season preparations last summer, and the Hammers have really missed him this term.
West Ham currently sit in 12th spot in the Premier League table, six points adrift of seventh placed Wolves, so having Lanzini back fit and firing on all cylinders will be a huge boost for Pellegrini’s side.
The Chilean addressed the media yesterday, and outlined when he expects to have the mercurial play-maker back involved with the first-team squad, as quoted by Football.London:
“I hope that Manu Lanzini will be ready for Fulham, at least for the bench, if he continues working over the next two weeks.”
West Ham have an away clash with Crystal Palace to deal with before then, however, and Pellegrini will be hoping that his side emulate their performance against Liverpool on Monday night.
And beating the Eagles tomorrow, combined with Lanzini’s impending return, will set them up nicely for the final third of the season.
