The West Ham United winger surprisingly ended up staying at the London Stadium during the off-season.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Cardiff City tomorrow, and shared what he told Robert Snodgrass at the start of the season, after the winger was linked with a move away from the London Stadium in the summer, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Scotland international, 31, has been in great form for the Hammers this season, and has chalked up two goals and five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Snodgrass’ chances of earning regular first-team action were boosted greatly after Andriy Yarmolenko was ruled out until at least March, and so far, he hasn’t disappointed.
Pellegrini has obviously been impressed with the experienced winger this season, having started him in five of West Ham’s last six outings, and the Chilean shared what he told the Hammers ace at the start of the season, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“I spoke with Snodgrass at the beginning of the season. It depended on what he wanted and I gave him some demands about his work. He’s a great professional player who has the desire to be here.”
Snodgrass will most likely start tomorrow night’s clash with Cardiff, and he will be hoping to help his side record back-to-back victories in the Premier League for the first time since January 2017.
